OUR MISSION

To accelerate the production of plant-based products that are truly sustainable for the planet and its people. As the world moves away from animal-based food at a rapid pace, the shortage of raw materials and high-quality proteins can make it difficult for alternative protein suppliers to keep up. That's where we come in. By harnessing the power of fermentation, we are able to create the ultimate alternative protein that is not only sustainable but also delicious and accessible to everyone.

We don’t have a planet B

As the world’s population continues to grow and with it a surge in demands for food and water, there is a very real need for long-term, sustainable food sources at scale.

By 2050 the world population is predicted to reach

Circle of people
9.7 Billion

people

We’ll need to

double

the planet’s size

Two worlds

to support humanity demands

With microalgae on our side, dreaming big is finally within reach

Brevel believes it’s time for a paradigm shift in the relationship between the industrial society and our planet. We aspire to see a more sustainable world, and we believe that microalgae will play a crucial role.

We envision microalgae-based ingredients becoming a natural part of life and a first-of-its-kind viable solution for a wide range of industries. By providing truly affordable, consistent, and scalable production of microalgae-based products, we’re well on our way to naturally achieving – and exceeding – our goals.

Our planet’s future depends on microalgae

When it comes to natural resource efficiency, microalgae is, by far, the optimal ingredient for food and nutrition.

Land Use

1000 sqm / Ton Protein

CO2 Emissions

Ton co2 / Ton Protein

CO2 Emissions comparison - 110 kg of CO2 emission is discharged for every ton of protein originated from Beef farming. 9 kg of CO2 emission is discharged for every ton of protein originated from growing soy. Only 3 kg of CO2 emission is discharged for each ton of protein originated from microalgae cultivation.

Water Consumption

Ton Water / Ton Protein

Water consumption comparison - 4200 kg of water is used for every ton of protein originated from Beef farming. 170 kg of water is used for every ton of protein originated from growing soy. Only 90 kg of water is used for every ton of protein originated from microalgae cultivation.

Land Use

1000 sqm / Ton Protein

Land use comparison - 4200 squared meter of land is needed for one ton of protein originated from Beef farming. 170 squared meter of land is needed for one ton of protein originated from growing soy. And only 0.3 squared meter of land is needed for one ton of protein originated from microalgae cultivation.

Sustainable development goals

Zero Hunger

Brevel's facility can be easily constructed anywhere worldwide and is capable of producing a substantial quantity of proteins and ingredients within a short period. Microalgae serve as a highly efficient source of protein, vitamins, and minerals, requiring minimal resources and space for cultivation. Through our fermentation technology, we offer a sustainable and nutrient-rich food source wherever it is deployed.

Responsible consumption and production

Brevel's microalgae cultivation requires very little land, water, and energy to produce a high-yield crop. This method of cultivation minimizes waste and reduces the carbon footprint associated with traditional agriculture.

Climate action

Our Fermentation solution is a climate-friendly solution that contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Microalgae are efficient carbon dioxide absorbers and can help to mitigate the impact of climate change.

Life on land

Brevel's technology contributes to preserving and restoring life on land by minimizing the use of arable land and reducing the pressure on natural resources.

Why “Brevel” -
Our Company Story

Brevel was founded in 2016 by the three Golan brothers. Our grandfather, George, a gifted engineer, emigrated from Germany to the United States in the 1930s with next to nothing to his name.

A hard worker, he founded a thriving company for slow-turning motors, which grew and was acquired by larger manufacturers – twice. Now leading a large corporation for the third generation, our family holds onto his entrepreneurial spirit, passion for invention and ingenuity, and the name he chose for his company, Brevel.
